1. What is something we don’t know about you?– Okay, this might be shocking–especially if you think you know me and you really don’t. I actually like to dance, and sing, goof off, and definitely run around. Everyone knows me as the “quiet person,” or the “smart person.” Well everyone, now you know; it’s just a matter of catching me doing that! Mwahahahahaha!

2. How far have you traveled away from home?– Ummm…that would depend. When I used to live in California, my family took a trip to Mexico to visit my grandparents. We stayed there for a while–and they had this wonderfully awesome house by the beach! There was a place where we could enter the roof, and it looked out onto the beach that was nearby; we had a fantastic view of the ocean! -sigh- It’s beautiful…oh, hahaha…whoops. I got off topic. Anyway, I think Mexico is the farthest I’ve officially been from home. Now that I live in Arkansas, it’s even farther than that!

3. Have you ever danced the Tango?If not, would you like to learn? –Hahaha, this goes with the stuff that people don’t know about me. Yes, I have danced the Tango–I learned it at the UBMS Math-Science program at Lyon College! Our dance teacher was awesome, and I’m really glad that I took her class!

4. What would you do if you were snowed in?– If I were snowed in…hmmm…well I suppose if I were alone and snowed in, then that would probably be a little more exciting–hahaha, and definitely less irritating. First, I would run all over my house, hyper by the fact that there is so much snow on the ground–let alone by my door. Hmm…I might even make a documentation of how I survived the day(s) I was snowed in. Hahahaha, then (whenever I’m not snowed in anymore), I might show the documentation to my friends–and regret it later. Hey, it made them laugh, didn’t it? Especially at the part that I opened my door and all the snow fell inside, and the wall was STILL taller than my door, so I just made a standing snow angel? Hahaha, I know I would be laughing!

5. What is the scariest movie you have seen?– Okay, don’t think I’m a wimp for this, but the scariest movie I have ever seen would have to be “The Grudge.” No, not “The Grudge 2,” or “The Grudge 3″–just the first movie. I was over at a friend’s house and we decided to stay up and watch whatever was on–and “The Grudge” was on. We all tried to stay up and watch it all night, but we were tired–and before I fell asleep, one of the men was backed up against something…and then he looked up to see the little boy with the cat meow above him. He meowed–and then I fell asleep. Hahaha, I had nightmares for a week! Now, I believe that I have gathered up the courage to watch it again–but we don’t have the movie, so I haven’t watched it. Hahaha, I hope I don’t get nightmares again; I’ll have to see it in order to find out!

6. What games did you play as a kid?– Wait, you mean I’m not still a kid??? Noooo!!! Hahaha, just kidding–I don’t feel like a kid anymore if I am still one. Hmmm…games I used to play. Well, my favorite game was tetherball (if anyone else knows that game). It’s where a ball is attached to string, and you have two or more people playing (four is probably your highest number for players). You have to choose a side to hit the ball, and the other person chooses the other side. However, I have to warn you to watch your arms, fingers, and most of all: your head. You can get hurt in this game. There are other rules as well, such as not being able to hit the string when the ball is motion…and maybe a couple of others. Anyway, that was my ultimate favorite game. I also played hand-ball, four square, hide-and-seek, tag, Jump the River, and a couple of video games and board games here and there.

7. If I were a rock star…?– If I were a rock star, I would be able to sing a lot better than I actually can, I would probably earn quite a bit of money to help with bills and such sorts, and make an impact on the people by teaching them to start taking responsibility for their actions. I really don’t like the fact that people pass the blame onto other people (especially when I catch myself blaming my actions on something else and I find what I was doing it–then I fix it). Hmmm…I’d probably do more, but I haven’t really given this situation much thought, hahaha.

As for our EAST’s conference members, we are proud to announce that Marisa not only made the Ambassador Team, but also that Grant Stevens will be taking her place as one of the seven members. Congratulations to both Marisa Damm and Grant Stevens!

In the competition, the students entered their photos, and then voted on the one that they thought was the best. To vote, the photo had to meet some requirements, such as the following.

• Does the photo tell a story?
• Is the subject of the photo obvious?
• Is the photo in focus?
• Is the overall photo interesting?

People were able to vote for the “best” photo by e-mailing Ms. Smith the row and column number that the photo fell in (ex. Row 4, Column 2). The photo with the most votes won the photo contest.

After the voting on the photos, the “best” one was soon discovered. Row 8 Column 2 is the winner of the photo competition!
