For the 2026-2027 school year, every student at the Mountain View Campus will get free breakfast and free lunch every school day.
This is possible thanks to the USDA Provision 2 program. We’re excited to keep our students fueled and ready to learn!

Two at-large vacancies are open on the Mountain View School Board. Interested candidates must notify the district and submit a petition with 20 signatures of registered voters within 30 days of this notice. Required documents are available at this link https://www.arsba.org/page/policy-resources or can be picked up at the district office. Recent media coverage has suggested that the Mountain View School District now supports the amendment to Act 919. That is not an accurate representation of our position.
Comments made by Mountain View District leadership were intended to reflect our obligation to comply with state law and to act in good faith—not a change in stance. Our concerns regarding this amendment have not changed.
We continue to believe the financial structure of this amendment places a disproportionate burden on our district and creates real risk for our students. Those concerns have been clearly communicated and remain today.
Our compliance with the law should not be misinterpreted as support for the policy.
As we move forward, we are relying on repeated assurances from legislators and the Arkansas Department of Education that our district will be made whole by way of the state fully reimbursing the Mountain View School District for the amount we are losing through this detachment. That commitment from state leaders is critical, and we fully expect it to be honored.
We will continue to advocate for our students, operate in good faith, and hold state leaders accountable for the promises that have been made

This afternoon, MVHS administration received a report that a firearm may have been inside a student’s vehicle on campus. As soon as the report was made, we immediately responded and secured the unloaded firearm without incident. At no time did the firearm enter any school building, and the situation was resolved quickly and safely. At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that any harm was intended.
We are grateful to the individual who reported the concern so it could be addressed right away. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority, and we take every report seriously.
We understand that situations like this can cause concern, and we want to reassure families that appropriate procedures were followed and the matter has been handled in accordance with school safety policies. We would like to especially thank the MVHS Principals, Officer Glenn, and Officer Masters for appropriately handling this situation and for continuing to make student safety a top priority. We will continue to work closely with families and our community to maintain a safe learning environment for everyone.

Reminder: All MVSD schools will dismiss at 1:40pm today. Afternoon buses will be at their stops 1 hour and 40 minutes earlier than usual. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be from 3-7pm tonight.
2 ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. There will be no MVSD school board this meeting this week as mentioned at the last meeting. The next scheduled MVSD school board meeting will be March 17.
2. Tomorrow (Tuesday Feb. 24) school will dismiss at 1:40pm and Parent-Teacher Conferences will be from 3-7pm at all MVSD Campuses. Please note the afternoon release time when considering afternoon transportation arrangements.
All MVSD schools will need to make up 4 school days due to the time we missed for recently winter weather. Make up Day 1 will be this Monday 2/16. Make up day 2 will be Monday 3/2. Make up Days 3 & 4 will be May 14 & 15. The last day of school will now be May 15.
Correction! Regular BUS routes will be starting back tomorrow.
MVSD will run regular bus routes again starting in the morning.
MVSD will run snow bus routes again tomorrow Wednesday 2/4. We're optimistic that we will be able to return to regular routes on Thursday.
