MVES was fortunate to welcome Jennifer Garner, Ambassador for Save the Children, along with members of the National Save the Children team, for a special visit!
During her time at MVES, Jennifer joined some lucky kindergarteners for a lesson and had the opportunity to participate alongside our students. The Music Roots program provided wonderful entertainment during lunch, and Jennifer ended her visit with a special read-aloud in our library.
Save the Children proudly offers several programs at MVES, including in-school and afterschool literacy programs, KinderBoost, as well as an early childhood home-visiting program. We are so grateful for their continued partnership and the opportunities they provide to our students and families!💙

🍎 A Sweet Day in Mrs. Adams’ Class! 🍏
Mrs. Adams’ class celebrated Johnny Appleseed on Friday with a day full of learning, tasting, and fun!
Students made homemade applesauce, tried apple pie, and taste-tested three different varieties of apples. They even graphed the results to find the class favorite! 📊🍎 They put their apple cores to good use by turning them into stamps for their very own apple artwork. 🎨
The class also enjoyed learning about John Chapman, and to make the day even sweeter, one thoughtful student brought “Happy Apple Day” cards for everyone! ❤️
What a fun way to mix reading, math, science, art, and a little something sweet! 🍎🍏📚

A big thank you to Ozarka College and Chef Petty for spending time with our students and teaching them how to make sushi! Several students got to try their hand at making their own sushi and everyone got to enjoy some! There were a lot of questions, a lot of learning and plenty of fun!

A huge Yellowjacket thank you to First Service Bank, Urban Forge, Flatwoods Baptist Church and Stone Bank for providing delicious snacks and drinks for our staff across campus. Because let’s be honest teachers can never have too much caffeine! 😂 Your kindness was such a thoughtful surprise and helped make their days a little sweeter.

Mrs. Adams’ students had a super sweet Watermelon Day on Friday! They counted watermelon seeds and solved addition equations, enjoyed books all about watermelon, went on a watermelon shape hunt, and—of course—ended the fun with some delicious watermelon! 🍉
